New Public Access Defibrillator

Hayle Town Council is delighted to announce the placement of a Public Access Defibrillator on the wall beside the Hayle Outdoor Swimming Pool on King George V Memorial Walk.  The unit has been supplied by The Ronnie Richards Memorial Fund with contributions from Hayle Pump and the Friends of Hayle Pool.

As with any emergency, the initial link is always to phone for an ambulance but now, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Pool and the Hayle Pump, members of the public using the Walk will now be able to obtain a code from the Emergency Services to allow access to the defibrillator.  Rapid response with this piece of lifesaving equipment has been shown to have major positive results in “out of hospital cardiac arrests”.

During the Summer season, fully qualified lifeguards are available to assist in an emergency but this defibrillator is top of the range and will talk anyone through the steps needed to operate it safely and successfully.
