A PLEA TO HELP YOUR LOCAL FOOD BANK

A plea to help your local food bank from West Cornwall Health Watch
A PLEA TO HELP  YOUR LOCAL FOOD BANK
We are all naturally concerned at this time for the health and wellbeing of ourselves and our loved ones.  Can we however remember that many are in a desperate situation reliant on their local food bank to purely  survive?
Demand  for Food Banks has always sadly been high but this crisis threatens to engulf them.
Please- you can  help !
As important as money is it is the supply of actual groceries that is of critical concern.  The shelves are bare and where there is food  you are limited to three tins per item .  We shop for maybe 4 in our family, so imagine shopping for a family of 100  and growing by the day.
As you shop please add   extra items to your trolley for the collection  box on the way out.  Tesco , Morrisons and  Sainsburys have  large collection boxes after their checkouts in each  store.  If you cannot not find one  please ask  at the information desks. Sadly customers have been helping themselves to donated  produce  so  some boxes  have been moved.
If you are shopping online as so many are then a monetary donation is great .  Better still is  drop  something direct into the actual  foodbank in your area.
Can you donate some time. Many volunteers are self-isolating and with the increase in demand this is causing great strain. If you can  give  just a couple of hours a week to help.  Perhaps delivering food and aid to those self isolating Please contact your local Food Bank
