*Christmas Rubbish and Recycling Collections*
There will be no changes to rubbish and recycling collections this year as Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall on a Saturday and Sunday. Rubbish and recycling will be collected as usual on the bank holidays of 27 and 28 December 2021 and 3 January 2022.
Full details of the arrangements over Christmas and New Year are published on the Cornwall Council website.
This information is also included in the annual service leaflet, which is being delivered to every home in Cornwall in time for Christmas.
*Christmas Tree Collections*
After Christmas, we will collect non-artificial Christmas trees up to 6ft tall. Residents should cut their tree in two if larger than 6ft. The trees will be shredded and composted.
People with subscriptions to Cornwall Council’s garden waste service should put their real Christmas tree out on their normal garden waste collection day. People who don’t have a garden waste subscription should put their tree out on their rubbish collection day between Monday 10 January and Friday 14 January 2022.
People can also take their real Christmas trees to their nearest Household Waste and Recycling Centre. Decorations and pots should be removed before trees are recycled.
*Household Waste and Recycling Centres*
Household Waste and Recycling Centres will be open 9am to 4pm throughout the festive period except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
We are asking people to help us increase recycling by sorting their items before they get to their centre, including wood, plastic, electricals, garden waste, drinks cartons and batteries.
*Christmas Recycling*
We will be encouraging people to recycle everything they can over Christmas and there is Christmas recycling advice on our website.
