HRH The Duke of Edinburgh: 1921 – 2021

On behalf of our residents, Hayle Town Council offers sincere condolences to the Royal Family on the passing of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh – Councillor Clive Polkinghorne, Town Mayor.

The Flags situated adjacent to Copperhouse Pool have been lowered to half mast and will remain so until the morning following the funeral.

The Royal Family ask that members of the public consider making a donation to a charity instead of leaving floral tributes see https://www.royal.uk/donations.

A letter of condolence from the Mayor will be sent to the Private Secretary at Buckingham Palace. The letter will then be stored in the Royal Archives and the local archives for Hayle.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, physical Condolence Books cannot be opened in the Parish but the Cornwall Lieutenancy has opened an e-Book of Condolence for the people of Cornwall – messages of condolence can be emailed to lieutenancy@cornwall.gov.uk.

Members of the public can also submit their messages of condolence to the National e-Book of Condolence.
