The Mayor’s Sponsored Walk for Children’s Hospice south West

The Mayor, Councillor Clive Polkinghorne, has chosen Children’s Hospice South West to benefit from this year’s sponsored walk.

He invites you to join the sponsored walk on Sunday 15 September 2019 to help raise funds for this deserving local charity. Little Harbour provides care and comfort to children and young people with life-limiting conditions as well as support for their families.  The facility provides respite, relief from pain and restores the quality of life for however long that may be.  This sponsored walk is a positive step towards ensuring the continuation of this wonderful care.  Please join us.

There are two possible walks as follows:

  • 5 miles which includes some of the coastal footpath and some incline (Registration from 2.00pm, starting at 2.30pm)
  • 2 miles on the flat (Registration from 2.30pm, starting at 3.00pm)

Walkers of all abilities and ages are welcome to participate and why not bring your dog along as well! On the day refreshments will be provided – however we encourage you to bring along your refillable cups and water bottles to minimise plastic use/waste.

The walks will start from outside Hayle Open Air Swimming Pool on King George V Memorial Walk. If you and your friends/family wish to participate please return your registration form to the Town Council Office (details below) and we will forward a walkers pack which includes a sponsorship form, the details of the route, start times etc. Registration forms can also be downloaded from the council’s website: – www.hayletowncouncil.net. Early registration will also help us to estimate numbers of walkers but equally please feel free to register and/or make a donation on the day.

If you are able to help, perhaps with marshalling, then please contact the Town Council Office.
