We have received the following information from South West Water:
“South West Water (SWW) apologise that we currently have a backlog in our sludge process at site and this is due to a fault on one of the two Sludge Thickeners.
To rectify this situation our contractors are currently on site carrying out repairs and we hope that this will be brought back into service later today. Additionally, our operators are working to clear the backlog of sludge at this time and will continue to do so late into the night.
SWW apologise for any odours that are created during this time and we will work as quickly as possible to resolve this issue.
A notification has also been placed within our contacts team should any other members of the public or residents contact SWW with regard to this issue.”
