Hayle Neighbourhood Plan – Referendum

In March the Hayle Neighbourhood Plan passed the external inspection and since then Cornwall Council has made sure that the plan incorporates all of the Inspector’s comments and has completed its final review.

The Neighbourhood Plan will now go to a referendum on Thursday 24 May 2018.

Registered electors in the Hayle parish will have the opportunity to vote YES or NO to the following question:

  • Do you want Cornwall Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Hayle to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?

If more than 50% of those voting support the Neighbourhood Plan, it will be adopted by Cornwall Council.

Please vote

A large response will show Cornwall Council that Hayle voters are engaged in determining the future of our town.

The Neighbourhood Plan is available for download from here and you may also consult printed copies at the Hayle Library and the Hayle Town Council offices during their opening hours from Thursday 1 May.

Information Open Days

You may learn more about the Plan at Information Open Days on Saturdays 12 and 19 May from 12 noon to 4.00pm at the Hayle Day Care Centre, Commercial Road (located in the car park).

For your information, a shorter document regarding the plan is available to download here.  Please note it is not a summary, but contains selected extracts and pertinent points which have been prepared for the display panels for the information days.  They were designed to be read by members of the public in the vicinity of members of the steering group who would be available to answer any questions.
