Hayle Twinning Association – 20th Anniversary Gift

Mr Trathen attended the full council meeting on Thursday 5 October to present a gift to Hayle Town Council to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the twinning of Hayle with Pordic in Brittany.  He gave a brief history of the Hayle Twinning Association, explaining that it had started officially in 1997 when residents from both Hayle and Pordic had signed each other’s charters in the spring of that year following mutually friendly meetings in each location.

The gift was handed over to the mayor in recognition of Mr Trathen’s involvement in the Hayle Twinning Association in the year of its 20th anniversary.  The mayor thanked Maurice for the gift of the commemorative plate and said how much he had enjoyed the twinning events he had attended over the last three years and that they were some of the best events he had attended as mayor and deputy mayor.

The town council thanked both Maurice Trathen and Hayle Twinning Association formally for all they do and have done for the town.
