Hayle Heritage Centre is taking part in a nationwide event turning the heritage centre into a Fun Palace: a FREE celebration of arts and culture.
The Fun Palace will focus on Hayle’s landscape and history with talks and workshops provided by various organisations. The RSPB will be giving talks about birds in the reserve and showing people how to make bird feeders, bird wrist snap bands and feather fingers. Surfers Against Sewage will be at the centre with lots of information about pollution in the oceans and how you can help; there will be linked drop-in sea creature craft sessions for all ages and recycling workshops turning waste material into jewellery. There will also be a Cornish bard on hand telling tall tales and giving a crash course in the Cornish language.
When: Saturday 7 October from 11am to 4pm
Where: Hayle Heritage Centre, John Harvey House, 24 Foundry Square, Hayle, Cornwall, TR27 4HH
Cost: FREE
