Ethel has spent most of her life ‘technical drawing’ in a drawing office environment. Her love for watercolour started in her early life with her father as her influence.
“It is the light, colour and movement which is so exciting. I am a purist watercolourist. i do not use white paint, I let the light come from the white of the paper.”
Five years ago Ethel developed macular degeneration of the eyes which she has found very difficult to come to terms with and as a result is now experimenting with colour within her painting.
