Medal & Award Recognition Day

The Royal British Legion Lands End Group will be holding a medal recognition day when members of the public can bring along medals from family and friends for identification and find out when and where they were won, enabling them to be worn at official remembrance services.

When: Saturday 21 October 2017 from 10.00am until 4.00pm
Where: Harvey’s Foundry Trust, 24 Foundry Square, Hayle TR27 4HH (parking available)
Cost: Recognition services will be FREE, but there will be Poppy Collection tins for donations

The Lands End group of British Legions, including the Hayle British Legion, and volunteers from Harvey’s Foundry Trust will staff tables to identify medals and other war memorabilia/artefacts – any that cannot be identified will be forwarded to Mr Guy Haskell, a medal expert and an auctioneer and valuer from W H Lane & Sons of Penzance.

There will be internet access to view the online medal register via your laptop, iPad etc.

Hayle Royal British Legion is hosting the event and will provide tea and coffee.
