Friends of the Towans – Steeple Woods, St Ives

This woodland and heathland reserve was designated in 2002, at the same time as our own Gwithian Green.  You’ll be helping the local volunteers to cut back some of the overgrown heathland on the hilltop, to create some habitat diversity.  The Friends hope that some of ‘their’ volunteers might like to come and help them on the Towans at times in the future.

Ranger Martin Rule will bring tools, gloves, tea, coffee and biscuits, but please make sure you bring appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for working in the exposed Towans’ environment.

Access and parking is tricky, so if you plan to go please contact Martin by text or phone to 07854 123877, or email martinrule@talktalk.net so you can liaise on details.
